Q. Can Rice alumni access library resources?

As soon as you are identified as an alum, your Rice NetID login will no longer allow you remote access to our online resources, and you won't be able to use your Rice ID to check out books.  This may be within a few days of graduation.  You can always come to the library and use our resources on site. 

However, you can join the Friends of Fondren to check out materials. For the first five years after graduation, a reduced rate is available ($25 a year); after five years the alumni rate is $75.

Also, as an alumna, and separate from the Friends of Fondren membership, you have access to several of our online databases through the Alumni website.  Look at our Alumni page to gain access to the Alumni Portal. Then, after you log in to the Alumni Portal, find "Alumni Library Resources" in the grey box on the left, under "Links and Resources".
