Remote access to the library's databases is restricted to current Rice faculty, students and staff.  However, Rice alums do have access to the Rice Alumni Digital Library, which offers full-text access to books and collections of primary sources, plus journal articles from JSTOR and Proquest's ABI Inform database. The service is a collaborative initiative of Fondren Library, Rice Information Technology, and the Office of Alumni Affairs.

The Rice Alumni Digital Library is accessed through the Rice Alumni website and requires an alumni logon.

A simple registration procedure is available for first-time users. Please contact the Office of Alumni Affairs for assistance in registering for use of the Rice Alumni website, and with questions regarding criteria for alumni status.

(If you are a current Rice faculty member or student, see the off-campus access page.)
