Students enrolled in courses in the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies such as ESL courses must join the Friends of Fondren Library to obtain borrowing privileges.
The Fondren Library has borrowing agreements with some area institutions. For more information, see our Borrowing Materials: Visitors page.
Family members or dependents of Rice graduate students, staff, and faculty are also eligible for borrowing privileges. Family members must first obtain their own Rice ID from the University Police department and then bring it to the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Fondren Library.
If you are an alum or not currently affiliated with Rice University, you can obtain borrowing privileges by becoming a member of the Friends of Fondren Library.
