Fondren Library supports different types of spaces, including collaborative as well as quiet areas.

Rice ID card holders are encouraged to use the 6th floor reading room, which is a silent study area.

Quiet and comfortable seating for all users is available on the 2nd and 4th floors.

The first floor is not a quiet area. The third floor area around the Kyle Morrow Room is frequently busy with programs. The Brown Fine Arts Library occasionally hosts exhibits and holds classes. Stack areas are the quietest on this floor.

Please let library staff know of any questions or concerns. We are here to help.
