Q. How can I find dissertations from other universities?
Hello,I am a DMA student at the Shepherd School doing research for my doctoral document from abroad. There are a couple of dissertations from other universities that I need to look at. Aside from ordering a copy from the ProQuest service, are there any alternatives for me?
Check on scholar.google.com for the dissertations. Many universities (such as Rice) now have an institutional digital repository which includes their dissertations. However, unlike Rice, which has digitized our full back-file, you may not find older dissertations for some schools.
Request the dissertations via interlibrary loan. Not all schools will loan their copies of their dissertations ... but some do.
