'LC' refers to the Library of Congress classification system; this is what Fondren Library uses to catalog materials.  Every item in the library's collection has an unique LC call number.

The term 'stacks' refers to the bookshelves in the basement and on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.  In other words, the main part of the collection which does not have a special location such as Reference.

Please consult the call number guide to determine the location of a specific call number.
