Start with our Census page under Government Information Subjects. It contains links for finding a wide variety of census information. One popular free census tool is American Factfinder since it contains population, housing, economic, and geographic data with fact sheets already prepared for a city/town, county, or zip code. The subscription databases Social Explorer and SimplyAnalytics available in the library or with a Rice ID are also popular tools to use for finding and making maps with census information. The GIS Data Center offers introductory classes for Rice people on those tools.  If you have trouble locating the census information you need, ask for help at the Government Information desk in the basement of Fondren Library.
