SciFinder Scholar (the full Chemical Abstracts database) is available only to Rice students, faculty and staff (the publisher's license will not permit use by others, even in the library itself).
The only vendor providing access to Chemical Abstracts (Student Edition) has ceased making it available.
You will need to apply for a SciFinder Scholar web account using the account request form.
Your application will be reviewed and a staff member will send you instructions on how to register. Once you've done so, use the SciFinder Scholar (web version) link from the library's website and login with your personal login.
